tML® floor box frame

Dortmund, 29 June 2010. With the tML® floor box applications, tde - trans data elektronik GmbH, a leading manufacturer, distributor and systems supplier of networking equipment has made a significant expansion to its successful tML® – tde Modular Link – cabling system. Using a special module adaptor for floor boxes, the tML® plug-and-play system is now also available for network cabling in office buildings. Since the completely prefabricated and factory-tested system components only have to be assembled locally, tde not only reduces the installation time to a minimum, but also ensures the office environment can benefit from cabling that offers optimal transmission performance.
 
Floor boxes are now standard in modern office buildings. By using a cavity floor construction that incorporates floor box solutions, work places can be supplied with the necessary cables and telecommunications points in a way that is both safer and more visually appealing.

Plenty of space for network cables
 
In order to fit the modular systems into floor boxes, tde – trans data elektronik GmbH now offers a 15cm x 20.5cm adaptor. Using this adaptor, which is attached to the floor box using screws, any two modules from the tML® system can be incorporated into the floor box. The adaptor has been designed for applications including the popular Ackermann GES9 floor box and similar systems. The angle of the built-in modules can be adjusted by up to 15 degrees in order to ensure the patch cable is supplied in compliance with the bending radius. Alternatively, tde also offers a Consolidation Point enclosure for the housing of tML® modules.
 
Each floor module can accommodate a maximum of twelve RJ45 connectors or up to 24 LC duplex ports, that allow a mix of copper and fibre in the floor box. The fully prefabricated system means that costs of installation are reduced to a minimum. Once the cables have been laid in the floor cavity, the floor box adaptors and prefabricated modules can be installed. The only remaining job is to attach a connector and the network cabling is ready for use.
